A talk show with director Lisa Takeba and actor Ryota Ozawa, followed by the special screening.
On November 15th, there was a special screening of “The Pinkie”. The 64-minute screening was followed by a talk show in which Lisa Takeba, the director of the film, and Ryota Ozawa, who performed a double role, took part. A radio personality, Hiroyuki Watanabe, who is on a Hiroshima FM program, served as the master of ceremonies.
Takeba previously contributed a 7-minute short film, “The Most Beautiful Dictionary in the World”, to the 2011 Damah Film Festival in Hiroshima, which was the forerunner to the Hiroshima International Film Festival. Thus, in a sense, this is her second time taking part in the festival. “Festival crews warmly greeted me, saying ‘welcome back’. I was very happy.” Ozawa, who starred in both films, mentioned that both the actor and the director are linked with the festival by fate.

In the show, they talked about stories from the set. They shot the film in 6 days. The actor said, “ This is a ‘crash-course’ shoot. I tried hard to play two characters at the same time on such a tight schedule.” The director said, “This film is my first feature film. So, if I had too much time to pour in all my energy and efforts, I couldn't have finished it. By having a time limit, I could control myself.”
In a Q & A session, many fans passionately asked questions. Some in the audience came from Osaka and Tokyo to see the film. The director expressed her gratitude; “Thank you very much! I couldn’t be happier! May I have your name?”
“Ms. Heya, the president of the Hiroshima International Film Festival, gave me lots of advice on film-making. This film festival has brought me a lot which will lead to the development of new films.” The director ended the talk show with the comment; “I’d like to hear ‘welcome back’ again next year here in Hiroshima.”
