On November 12th, “Award Winners of the 4th Annual Competition of Art in Hiroshima pref.” was introduced at NTT CRED Hall No.1. This competition has many different categories, not only for movies, but also paintings, sculptures, and so on with the aim of stimulating Hiroshima people’s motivations for art creation.

“ROUROU”, directed by Sakurako Nagano, won the Best Film Award. Incentive Awards were given to three works, Sonnolenza, directed by Chiaki Kameoka, “HIROSHIMA MONOLOGUE” directed by Yuki Shinohara, and “SHINKANSEN-ASOBI”, directed by Sachiko Sako.

After the showing, Ms. Sako and Ms. Kameoka showed up on the stage and had a little talk session.

“Just unbelievable, but I had confidence too,” said Ms. Sako when asked the impression of winning the award.
Ms. Kameoka also expressed her feeling, saying” I have been always thinking that I didn’t want to be just self-satisfied while making animations. In that sense, I am very happy that my work was accepted by audiences.”
When the directors were asked whether they already had ideas of future works, they nodded promptly.

Ms. Sako answered, ”Definitely. I am going to focus on children as a theme again,” with much confidence.
Ms. Kameoka mentioned, “I want to make an animation film using daily sound in it as I did this time also, ”illustrating her ideas for the next work.
