<Story>
It is October 12, 1968, the inauguration of the “XIX Olympic Games” in Mexico. An olympic athlete makes history by being the first woman to light the “Fire of Peace”. Time is running backwards, the athlete is now a student carrying the torch, she relives the “Fire of the innocent student deaths” on the hands of the Mexican government at the Tlatelolco ́s massacre in Mexico City.”<Staff>

RICARDO SOTO
Ricardo Soto (Mexico City, 1988) studied film direction at Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (Mexico). As new director, he has been selected at Berlinale Talents (2014), Filmmakers Academy of Festival del Film Locarno (2013), Talent Demo by Camerimage (2015), MexiCannes 2015 (GIFF in cooperation with Cinéfondation Cannes) and IDFAcademy at IDFA (2018).
He has been a two-time grant winner of FONCA and received the Artistic Residence 24/7 in Berlin by Nipkow Programm, Goethe Institut, GIFF and Medienboard Berlin Brandenburg.
