After showing “A story of Chigasaki –MY LITTLE HOMETOWN”, a talk show was held with
Director Izuru Kumasaka and Mr. Junichi Miyaji, who is the best friend of the famous
musician Keisuke Kuwata of the band Mr. Miyaji named, “Southern All Stars”. Special
guest, Mr. Shinichi Nakazawa, who is an anthropologist and also acting in the movie,
decided to join the talk show at the last minute.
In the film, Mr. Miyaji and Mr. Nakazawa are acting in turns, and seemed to have known
each other, but actually they met for the first time in this talk show. However, they say that
they had an interesting feeling as if they were like old friends.
This film started from Mr. Miyaji’s idea of making a movie, which he came up with while the
staff were thinking about what to give to Mr. Kuwata for his sixtieth birthday celebration.
Originally, the film was supposed to be only for Mr. Kuwata, but Mr. Kuwata liked it very
much and suggested that they show it in public. According to Mr. Miyaji, even though the
film was made as a personal film, it cost just as much as commercial films.
Mr. Nakazawa jokingly said, “I was talking freely since I thought this is the personal film. I
was wondering whether he was able to direct the film, as he has asked strange questions
with his face placed right next to the camera. However, I was amazed by his talent after the
film was completed.”
Director Kumasaka said, after he decided to show it in public, he has changed the film to a
Japanese story so that people outside of Chigasaki will also enjoy it.
Chigasaki is the hometown of not only Mr. Kuwata, but many entertainers and musicians.
Though this work has unburied the history of Chigasaki from an anthropological point of
view, Hiroshima is also known as the hometown of many musicians. Interviewer Michita
Kimura concluded this cheerful talk show by requesting Director Kumasaka to make a next
series of the movie which unburies the history of entertainments in Hiroshima.
