On November 13th, “En haut des marches”, directed by Paul Vecchiali, was screened and it was followed by a talk show with the director and starring actress, Francoise Lebrun.
When the actress was asked how the film is positioned in her long career, she answered, “This film is one of the transitioning period which lead me to Paul’s world. I think it opened the door of his world.”
One of the audience asked the director about his take on the film movement called “Nouvelle Vague.” He said that he always gave the same answer to such a question and continued, “If compared to body parts, legs and stomach are 1930s, and head is “Nouvelle Vague.” “Nouvelle Vague” was a kind of prism that brought film a liberation.”
