"Paper Lanterns” tells the story of Shigeaki Mori and his lifelong calling to tell the story of not only the many Japanese victims of the Atomic bombing of Hiroshima, but of Normand Brissette, Ralph Neal and the ten other US airmen caught in the hell on earth of that day. Filmmaker Barry Frechette takes us from Lowell, Mass to Corbin, Kentucky to Hiroshima to tell the stor
y of Mori and the 12 US airmen. And show how the war impacted families in both countries, and how one man can rise above the hatred of war and heal the wounds of those terrible days."

Barry Frechette
Barry Frechette is an ad guy by trade.  He’s spent almost 25 years in the production community of Boston, and is currently the Director of Creative Services at Connelly Partners.  Most of his days are spent helping others create TV ads and other content. But when the story of Mr. Mori and the 12 American POWs in Hiroshima came his way, he was driven to tell it.  This is Barry’s first film.
A 1992 graduate of Stonehill College, Barry resides in Billerica, Massachusetts.
