“The International short film completion A” was held at NTT CRED Hall No 1. from 10:00 am on November 24 th Saturday.
The compositions which were nominated are, “Good Afternoon”, directed by Yamamoto Ei,
“Souls of Totality”, directed by Richard Raymond, and “Let It Be” directed by Txema
Novelo. After watching these shows, Mr. Deyama Tomoki and Pauline Baldwin were the
interviewers and talk shows were held by some movie directors and some producers.
During the interviews, Mr. Yamamoto said, “Plants and human lives are very similar to each
other and plants sometimes try to hide lights from the other plants to keep them from the
benefit of light. This movie was a motif of plants and I described it as human relationships
of strangers and families.”
James Mitchell as the producer of “Souls of Totality” said, “I want to do what everyone has
never tried before,” while he was talking about the purpose of shooting the moment of the
eclipse as a one shot in the movie and then he expressed the severity of shooting
conditions.
Txema Novelo, director of “Let It Be”, talked about how he wanted to put some realities into the Mexican village’s legend in which The Beatles ate magic mushrooms and he also talked about how he wants to keep searching for artists’ spirituals and traditions.
“Hiroshima Grand Prize”, “Jury Special Prize”, and “Audience Award”, all will be decided from six compositions, including competition B. Please, don’t miss them!!
