<Synopsis>
While emptying the Parisian apartment of Kyoko, who just passed the way, her daughter, Akiko, discovers two notebooks, left intentionally for her to read. A personal diary she wrote since 1964. Using this strange inheritance, the young woman starts a surprising journey. She takes her mother’s funeral urn back to Japan, in her mother’s family, and discovers an intimate territory to which she belongs without knowing it. The movie travels between two generations of women, between France of the New Wave and post-atomic bomb Japan, and post-tsunami Japan. In search of the right place to spread her mother’s ashes, Akiko goes back over time and tries to find her own place. Along this journey, Akiko, heroin of this documentary, mirror her mother the actress, her mother the feminine icon of the sixties. It is this dialogue beyond death, that the movie carries as it carries the past of Kyoko and the fate of Akiko.
