The showing and the talk show of “Goodbye, Grandpa!” was at NTT CRED hall at 4 pm on Friday, November 23rd.

The listener is Mr. Michita Kimura, a radio personality.

When Mr. Kimura introduced Director Yukihiro Morigaki and Mr. Amane Okayama, an actor, and they mounted the platform, the hall was filled with a storm of applause.
The talk show started with the comments of Director Morigaki and Mr. Okayama.
“I am so delighted that I could join this film festival held in my hometown,” said Director Morigaki.
“I’m so glad that you watched this movie at this festival although the DVD for this film has already been sold,” said Mr. Okayama.
Mr. Kimura asked about the filming, and Director Morigaki answered, “We went to a camp to make this movie in the summer two years ago and it took two months. There is a strong positive impression, though sometimes it was hard. There are two families in this film. I felt we were real family because we spend off-time together too.” And Mr. Okayama said, “I feel like we are relatives when I meet the other actors at different jobs.”
“Who cast these actors?”, asked Mr. Kimura, and Director Morigaki answered, “Well, I did. I cast whom I wanted to cast. When people said that the film was well casted at the overseas film festival, I feel so glad. I wanted to represent the image of the families in Japan as they are in a poplar way.” He explained how he cast and made the film. Mr. Okayama asked him about the response overseas and he answered, “Family is a universal theme, so the way parents and family ought to be are the same in many countries, though the way of conducting a funeral is different.”
One of audience made a comment, “Thank you for a great film, I had similar experiences when I was young, as this film told such secrets which parents didn't know and the scene in the funeral. It demonstrated as though it wasn't so serious.”
At last, “I will try hard to contribute to Hiroshima from now on too. Thank you for your support in advance”, said Mr. Morigaki and the talk show ended with a big applause.
