Hero of the Cuban revolution, Ernesto "Che" Guevara still continues to fascinate people around the world by his way of living through his own belief and unparalleled charisma. He lost his life on the Bolivian front in 1967. Around the same time, there was a Japanese-American who acted along-side of Guevara in Bolivia and was given the first name
from Guevara as the warrior's name. That man's name is Freddy Maemura. Born as a Nisei, Freddy aimed to be a doctor and studied at University of Havana in Cuba. When he met Guevara in the midst of the Cuban Missile crisis, he was deeply fascinated with Guevara and joined the unit of Guevara. Then he confronted the Bolivian military dictatorship.

Junji Sakamoto
Born in Osaka in 1958. While attending university, Junji Sakamoto participated at the film shooting site as a staff with the directors who were taking part in a movement for the "Japanese New Wave", such as, Gakuryu Ishii (formerly known as Sogo Ishii), Kazuyuki Izutsu, Toru Kawashima. In 1989, he made a directorial debut with "Dotsuitarunen" starring, Hidekazu Akai, and received numerous awards including the new face Award of Minister of Education Award for Fine Arts, Directors Guild of Japan New Directors Award, and the Blue-Ribbon Award for Best Film. He established a firm position in the Japanese film world with the awaited masterpiece, "Face" (2000), starring Naomi Fujiyama, which received awards including Japan Academy Prize for Director of the Year and Mainichi Film Award for Best Film and Best Director. He continues to produce exciting works of all genres constantly.
After 16 years, in an innovative science fiction comedy, "Danchi" (2016), he again worked with Naomi Fujiyama and she received the Golden Goblet Award for Best Actress at the 19th Shanghai International Film Festival. Other major works are, "KT” (2002), “Aegis” (2005), "Awakening” (2007), "Children of the Dark” (2008), "Zatoichi: The Last” (2010), "Someday” (2011), "A Chorus of Angels” (2012), "Human Trust” (2013), and "Joe, Tomorrow - 20 years with Joichiro Tatsuyoshi a Legendary Boxing Champ” (2016).
