“International Short Film Competition A” and directors’ talk show had been held on November 12, 2016 at NTT CRED Hall.

“Le Saphir de Saint-Louis” (directed by Jose Luis Guerin), “From Head Start” (directed by Kai Huang), “DOBRO” (directed by Marta Hernaiz Pidal) had been nominated in Competition A.

“ROBRO” which drew about the human drama between Mira who sits in front of entrance and Selma who tries to kick Mira out. In this film Ms. Pidal draw her own experiences when she studied in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

“From Head Start” which drew about father who is a wig maker, his son and people who wants father’s wig. Mr. Haung said wigs are used for beauty, to hide bold head, and for sick people (ex. Leukemia). Mr. Haung was surprised to hear about the story about Ms. Sasaki Sadako who suffered in leukemia because of atomic bomb.

“Le Saphir de Saint-Louis” was filmed from request of France governor. The first time Mr. Guerin received the request, he thought “This theme was boring”. But he added that “Because the theme was boring I found the hidden tragedy about slave ship Saphir”

Jury Award, Audience Award, and Hiroshima Grand prix Award will be announced on November 13, 2016.
