Hero of the Cuban revolution, Ernesto "Che" Guevara still continues to fascinate people around the world by his way of living through his own belief and unparalleled charisma. He lost his life on the Bolivian front in 1967. Around the same time, there was a Japanese-American who acted along-side of Guevara in Bolivia and was given the first name from Guevara as the warrior's name. That man's name is Freddy Maemura. Born as a Nisei, Freddy aimed to be a doctor and studied at University of Havana in Cuba. When he met Guevara in the midst of the Cuban Missile crisis, he was deeply fascinated with Guevara and joined the unit of Guevara. Then he confronted the Bolivian military dictatorship.
In 2017, fifty years after death of Guevara, "Another Guevara" will come back!
