    吉田喜重
    映画監督

    映画監督。戦後映画における松竹ヌーベルバーグの主要な映画作家であり、著名な映画監督。
    1933年、日本の福井市生まれ。
    1955年、東京大学文学部フランス文学科を卒業。同年、松竹の入社試験を受け、助監督として採用される。 彼は主として木下恵介監督に師事。当時、松竹には著名な小津安二郎監督も在籍していた。 吉田は処女作、「ろくでなし」(1960)によって、映画監督としての道を歩みはじめるとともに、60年代に話題となる松竹ヌーベルバークを先導した。
    1962年、後に妻となる岡田茉莉子の出演100本記念となる、『秋津温泉』(962年)を監督する。
    1964年、吉田と岡田、二人は結婚。松竹を離れて独立プロダクション、現代映画社を設立する(1966年)。
    それ以後、現在に至るまで10本の映画作品、および多数のドキュメンタリーを製作してきた。 彼のもっとも有名な映画は『秋津温泉』、また『鏡の女たち』(2003年)は55回カンヌ映画祭の公式招待作として特別上映された。
    2008年、パリのポンピドゥ・センターで吉田喜重回顧上映が行われ、彼の全映画作品とドキュメンタリーの1部が公開された。

    映画監督

    コンテンポラリー・ダンサーとして活躍後、ル・フレノワ国立現代アートスタジオにて映画を学ぶ。
    初短編映画は『Viril』(2007)、2作目の短編は 『Soit sage ô ma douleur』(2008)。2010年に発表した3作目の短編『La Dame au chien (原題、英語:The Lady With a Dog)』(2010)はジャン・ヴィゴ賞を受賞、四作目となる『Un dimanche matin (原題、英語:A Sunday Morning)』(2012)はカンヌ国際映画祭の批評家週間短編大賞を受賞し反響を呼んだ。初長編映画となる『Un jeune poète(英語:A Young Poet、日本語:若き詩人)』(2014)はロカルノ映画祭特別大賞を受賞した。

    アンスティチュ・フランセ日本 映画プログラム主任。映画批評家。『カイエ・デュ・シネマ・ジャポン』誌元編集委員。
    1996年より旧東京日仏学院にて映画上映の企画・運営を担当。フランスから様々な監督、俳優、映画批評家らを招聘し、映画作品とその上映、そして批評との関係をめぐる野心的な企画をオーガナイズし続けている。 2012年にはロカルノ国際映画祭にてOpera Prima(新人部門)の審査員、2014年のカンヌ国際映画祭では「批評家週間短編作品部門」の審査員を務めた。

    日本映画において現在も活躍しているもっとも有名な女優の一人、戦後の巨匠監督たちの作品に出演。
    1933年、東京に生まれる。父はサイレント映画時代の有名な男優、岡田時彦。母は宝塚歌劇のスター、田鶴園子。岡田茉莉子と名付けたのは、著名な小説家、谷崎潤一郎(1886-1965)。
    1951年、高校を卒業後、東宝演劇研究所に入る。同年、成瀬巳喜男監督作品、『舞姫』でデビューする。
    1957年、岡田は松竹に移籍、小津安二郎、木下恵介、渋谷実といった巨匠の作品に出演。
    1962年、岡田は映画出演100本記念として『秋津温泉』を企画、その監督を吉田喜重に依頼する。
    吉田と岡田、1964年に結婚。松竹を離れ、独立プロダクション、現代映画社を設立し、10作品を製作した。 なお、『鏡の女たち』(2003)は彼女の出演154本目、そして映画女優50周年にあたる作品である。

    宮崎県生まれ。1983 年『ションベン・ライダー』でデビュー。
    1991 年に『息子』で日本アカデミー賞、ブルーリボン賞、他計9映画賞で、主演・助演男優賞を総なめにし、『学校Ⅱ』(96)と『誘拐』(97)で日本アカデミー賞優秀助演男優賞を、そして『隠し剣 鬼の爪』(04)で同優秀主演男優賞を受賞。また、カンヌ国際映画祭芸術貢献賞受賞『ミステリー・トレイン』(89)、ロカルノ国際映画祭グランプリ受賞『アジアン・ビート(香港編)オータム・ムーン』(91)、リミニ国際映画祭グランプリ、エジンバラ国際映画祭監督賞、トリノ国際映画祭審査員特別賞を受賞した『コールド・フィーバー』(95)など90本の映画に出演している。
    近作では、2011 年に公開された『毎日かあさん』で日本映画批評家大賞主演男優賞受賞、『スマグラー おまえの未来を運べ』で日本放送映画藝術大賞優秀助演男優賞受賞。また、『KANO』(14)での金馬奨最優秀男優賞ノミネートは、日本人初の快挙となった。カンヌ映画祭・ある視点部門オープニング作品『あん』(15)は、ロングラン公開中。待機作に『64』『後妻業」『Words With Gods 四苦八苦』『十字架』『GOOD YEAR』『5 to 9』他。
    写真家としても活動。青森県立美術館、津軽伝承工芸館、みやざきアートセンター等で写真展を開催。昨年の台湾華山1914での「KANO」写真展には7 万人の動員、今年は台湾4箇所での「Mind's mirror-心象-」写真展には10万人の動員を集めた。今後も各都道府県で写真展を開催予定。

    Miguel Gomes

    Miguel Gomes was born in Lisbon in 1972. He studied cinema and worked as film critic for the Portuguese press until the year 2000. Miguel has directed several short films and made his first feature The Face you deserve in 2000. Our beloved Month of August (2008) and Tabu (2012) came to confirm his success and international recognition. Tabu was released at Berlinale’s Competition, where it won the Alfred Bauer and FIPRESCI award ; the movie was sold to over 50 countries and won dozens of awards. Retrospectives of Miguel’s work have been programmed at the Viennale, the BAFICI, the Torino Film Festival, in Germany and in the USA. Redemption, his most recent short film, premiered in 2013 at Venice Film Festival. Arabian Nights, is a three-part feature film, premieres in this year's edition of the Directors Fortnight in Cannes.

    Born in 1978. After graduating from the University of Tokyo with a Bachelor of Art in Aesthetics in March 2003, he had been working as an assistant directors for film and TV industry for three years. Then, Hamaguchi has studied at the Graduate School of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts and got the degree of Master of Film in March, 2008. Passion, his graduation film, was selected at San Sebastian in 2008 while the Japan/Korea coproduction film The Depths (2010) was screened at TOKYO FILMeX. He then co-directed the series of documentaries Tôhoku Documentary Trilogy with Kô Sakai from 2011 to 2013 before directing two fiction features, Intimacies (2012) and Touching the Skin of Eeriness (2013). He is now based in Kobe and HAPPY HOUR is his first feature fiction in 3 years.

    Jacky Goldberg is a 32-years-old French director, producer and film critic. He has been writing in the French cultural weekly Les Inrockuptibles for five years, mostly about American cinema. He has also created a movie club in Paris, called the Thursday Night Live, dedicated to this matter. He has directed four short movies, selected in Cannes or Locarno, and has produced a documentary, Golden Slumbers, directed by Davy Chou, about the golden age of Cambodian cinema in the ‘60s. The film was released in France in September 2012. He is currently working on a fiction feature film.

    Hidenori Okada

    Born in 1968 in Aichi Prefecture. Involved in preservation and archiving of film and non-film material, film programming, exhibitions and film education as a curator of the National Film Center, the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo. Specializes in film archiving, history of Japanese documentary film.
    Contributed essays to numerous books, mainly in Japanese, including Cinema and Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere (2004), Documentary Cinema Speaks (2006), The Encyclopedia of Indonesia in the Pacific War (2010), Reviving Somai Shinji (2011), Images of Postwar Japan: The Documentary Films of Iwanami Productions (2012), The Oxford Handbook of Japanese Cinema (2014) and Chris Marker, Cinéaste nomade et engagé (2014). Also edited a Japanese anthology, Paris in Cinema (2010)

    Hideyuki OKAMOTO (born in Okayama in 1979) is a Japanese Film Producer at Sunborn Visual Division/LOAD SHOW. His producing credits include “Touching The Skin Of Eeriness” (2013/dir: Ryusuke HAMAGUCHI/cast: Shota SOMETANI) and “Happy Hour”(2015/dir: Ryusuke HAMAGUCHI). He started his career as musician and actor, and most famously for “Intimacies” (2012/dir: Ryusuke HAMAGUCHI), “2045 Carnival Folklore” (2013/dir: Naoki KATO), “Similar but different” (2013/dir. Shota SOMETANI) and “Journey to the Shore” (2015/dir. Kiyoshi KUROSAWA).

  • Mie Yanashita

    Mie Yanashita
    Pianist of the Silent Film

    Mie is known throughout the world of as one of silent cinema’s foremost contemporary pianists. Her first public performance was in 1995 at the 100 Year Anniversary of the Birth of Motion Pictures, hosted by the Asahi Shimbun. In her native Japan, she has played at numerous film festivals, theatres, and events, including regular performances at the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo.
    Overseas, Mie’s performances include the Pordenone Silent Film Festival and Il Cinema Ritrovato in Italy, and the Bonn Silent Film Festival in Germany,and the Thai Silent Film Festival in Thailand. She has also worked with the Korean Classic Film Theatre and the Film Archive of Thai.
    In addition to her extensive live performances, Mie has also written updated soundtracks for a number of classic silent films released on DVD and Blu-Ray. Her work can be heard on the Eureka UK release of Dreyer’s The Passion of Joan of Arc, and Christensen’sHäxan: Witchcraft Through the Ages released by Kinokuniya.
    Mie’s prestigious career has seen her perform to over 600 films, all over the world. In 2006, she was awarded the Japanese Film Pen Club Award in recognition for her services to Japanese silent film.

    Daphné Hérétakis was born in Paris in 1987. After finishing school in Greece, she moved to France to study film at the University of Paris 8 Saint-Denis and at Le Fresnoy studio national des arts contemproains. She has been making documentary/experimental shorts since 2008 and her films have been shown to numerous festivals. She lives and works between Paris and Athens and predominantly shoots in Greece.

    After 10 years spent as a programmer and coordinator in various film festivals (Vendôme, Pantin, Paris Cinéma), Amaury Augé joined in 2013 the ACID team ( Association for Independent Cinema and its Distribution). He is in charge of coordinating the ACID section at the Cannes Film Festival and the partnerships with more than 60 film festivals around the world, including the Hiroshima International Film Festival.

    1966年10月19日生まれ。神奈川県横浜市出身。 1990年NHK入局。現在はNHKエンタープライズ・エグゼクティブプロデューサー。音楽を中心にエンターテインメント番組を手掛ける。主な担当番組は「紅白歌合戦」「MUSIC JAPAN」「スコラ坂本龍一 音楽の学校」「岩井俊二のMOVIEラボ」「Eダンスアカデミー」などがある。また、これまでにNHKで放送したすべてのPerfumeドキュメント番組をプロデューサーとして手掛けており、初の映画となる本作では監督を務める。

    Natsuka Kusano was born in 1985 in Yamato, Kanagawa Prefecture. After graduating from Tokai University, Department of Creative Writing, she studied filmmaking at the Film School of Tokyo, and participated in some independent films. In 2014, she made her first feature film Antonym with the support of Cineastes Organization Osaka. Antonym won Skip City award and Best Director at Skip City International D-Cinema Festival 2014 and Nippon Visions Jury Award at the 14th Nippon Connection. Antonym was released in September 2015 in Tokyo.

    Yuka Yasukawa was born in 1986, now resident in Nara. After studying picture production at Osaka Art Technical School, Yasukawa directed “She's Alright” in 2009 at “Momo Matsuri presents Uso” and screened at Eurospace Shibuya. “Dressing Up” which was based on “She's Alright”, was produced after the project plan was approved by the Osaka Cultural Promotion Business CO2 (Cineast Organization Osaka), successfully Kirara Tou winning the CO2 Best New Actor award and was screened at Frankfurt Germany Film Festival “Nippon Connection”. Last year Yasukawa participated in the making of director Isao Okishima's most recent work“WHO IS THAT MAN”.

    Born 1983 in Tochigi, A Japanese film director. Graduated Meiji Univ. faculty of Science and Engineering. Entered Tokyo National Univ. of Fine Arts’ visual laboratory postgraduate course in 2007, and studied under Kiyoshi Kurosawa. Directed the film “Kyoko” starring Shinobu Terajima, which is a part of the omnibus film ”LUSH LIFE”(2009) based on Kotaro Isaka’s novel. As his graduation work, he directed the film “Elephant Love ”(2009) starring Issei Ishida. In 2013 he moved to Kobe, and participated in “Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s  Impromptu Performance Workshop In Kobe” as a member of 'HATANOKOBO' which was a group of script writers. And he worked as a script writer and line producer on Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s latest film ”Happy Hour”(2015) which won a special mention for the movie’s script.

    Born in 1972, 3rd, November. Vancouver Film school / Meiji University.
    Japanese film maker, Hideyuki Tokigawa, began his career in Singapore working for Discovery Channel Asia, before returning to Tokyo to work for Walt Disney Television International , where he lead the TV Production Unit as Senior Producer.
    In 2002 he began to independently create feature length documentaries, TV commercials, music videos and short films, many of which have been broadcast on major networks and cable syndicates. Hideyuki's international experience and bilingual ability give him the advantage of a unique perspective.
    2009, He has set up the company, TimeRiver Pctures, Inc.

    Emmanuel Gras

    After a degree in History, Emmanuel Gras approached cinema as a camera student at the ENS Louis Lumière. At the end of his studies he went as a cinema volunteer to the Centre Culturel Français in Beirut and started work as a director of photography on documentaries taking him deep into the Middle East. On his return to France, he focused on directing his own projects and fictions, while continuing to do camerawork on other people’s films.

    Mako Kamitsuma

    Born in Houston, Texas and raised in Hiroshima, Japan, Mako grew up wanting to become an astronaut. At age 6, she realized her natural talent to manipulate image as a communication tool and that perhaps becoming a filmmaker might be a more pragmatic aspiration than dreaming the boundless space above. She gave up pursuing astronomy at UC Berkeley and went on to earn a BA in Philosophy from Columbia University and later attended New York University Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Film MFA program.

    片渕須直(かたぶち すなお)

    1960年大阪生まれ。日本大学芸術学部在学中に宮崎駿監督『名探偵ホームズ』の脚本・演出助手を担当し、以降、宮崎監督『魔女の宅急便』、大友克洋監督『MEMORIES』などのスタッフを勤める。
    監督作として『名犬ラッシー』『アリーテ姫』『ACECOMBAT 04(ムービーパート)』『ブラック・ラグーン』『マイマイ新子と千年の魔法』など。NHK復興援ソング『花は咲く』をこうの史代氏のキャラクターで短編アニメーション化。2010年より、こうの史代原作『この世界の片隅に』映画化に向けた緻密な調査に着手。以後、舞台となる広島・呉には幾度となく足を運んでいる。クラウドファンディングの大成功を受け、2016年の公開が正式に決定した。

    Davy Chou

    Davy Chou is a Cambodian-French filmmaker born in 1983. In 2009, he established filmmaking workshops in four Phnom Penh schools and founded a collective for young Cambodian filmmakers. He also organized the Golden Reawakening festival in 2009 which celebrated the golden age of Cambodian cinema during the 1960’s and 70’s. GOLDEN SLUMBERS (2012), a documentary about the birth of Cambodian cinema in the 60’s, and its subsequent destruction by the Khmer Rouge, was his first feature-length film. It was selected for the Busan International Film Festival and the Forum at the Berlin International Film Festival, as well as more than 40 other international festivals. His short film CAMBODIA 2099 (2014), which takes place entirely on Diamond Island, in Phnom Penh, has been selected for the Cannes Film Festival Directors’ Fortnight. He is currently developing the feature film DIAMOND ISLAND, produced by Aurora Films, Vycky Films, and Anti Archive, the Cambodian production company he created in 2014 together with the filmmaker Steve Chen.
