<Synopsis>

Luis, The Lizard, is a 76- year-old man living trapped between an asylum and the shadow of his past. He claims to interpret better than Jim Morrison the songs of the iconic band The Doors, among many other skills. Madness has walked by his side and has sheltered him to endure existence.

    Ricardo Soto

    Ricardo SOTO studied film direction at Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (Mexico). He has been selected in programs such as Berlinale Talents (Berlinale), Filmmakers Academy (Locarno), IDFAcademy (IDFA), MexiCannes (GIFF & Cinéfondation) and Talent Demo (Camerimage). He has been granted by FONCA four times and also did the Artistic Residency AiR in Berlin supported by GIFF and Nipkow Programm.

    His film works were selected at festivals such as Locarno, Camerimage, Hiroshima, Moscow, Ischia, Biarritz, GIFF, Huesca, FICG, among others. In 2019 Ricardo won the Jury prize with his short film Olympic flame at Hiroshima IFF, then he returns again on 2023 to present his feature film The singing of the flies.
