A dodge challenger is speeding along the Izumo seacoast. The driver, Noboru (Katsuya Maiguma), former top-earning Shinjuku club host, shakes his lover, Noriko (Rina Takeda), a club hostess, to wake her. Noboru drove 800 km flat out through the night on Japan’s highways to bring Noriko to this corner of Japan. He tells her it’s a ‘surprise bullet trip,’ hiding the real purpose. Unfortunately, they’ve arrived at their destination on Dec 3, the day when this port town, said to be the closest to Heaven and the gods, holds an ancient Shinto ritual called Morotabune Shinji. The lives of this ill-matched couple take an unexpected turn when their paths cross with Goro's (Aoyama Fall Gachi), a local resident and third-generation soy sauce maker.
