<Story>

I thought I was alone in this world.
The film “In This Corner of the World” was highly acclaimed both domestically and internationally, and it has been playing with no interruption for over 1000 days since the day it opened in theaters in 2016. This is a new film including segments from the original comics added to the film “In This Corner of the World”. These makes light of the “other lives” around Suzu, so we get to see the real feelings of optimistic Suzu, what everyone thinks about their close ones, very warm yet melancholic feelings.

<story>
A well-established strip theatre in Hiroshima is on the verge of closure. Its manager, Kinoshita, gives an interview to the press, remembering its flamboyant past. A relationship with a particular stripper had marked his entrance into the world of burlesque. The strippers arrive for their last performance on stage, including an enigmatic, young dancer and a well-known veteran of the stage. Kinoshita recalls a long-forgotten love as the end approaches. In his breast, the jostling emotions of regret and youthful ardor begin to stir. Then, the curtains rise for the final performance. The patrons gaze at something beyond the nude flesh on display. As the act nears its end, Kinoshita remembers a shared secret with a stripper that he had hidden away in his breast. A bright vision unfolds on the stage and Kinoshita is transported back into a beautiful dream.

Hirokazu Koreeda made a Teru Miyamoto's novel into a film of the same title, Maboroshi (illusion).
Ikuo and Yumiko are a young couple living in Osaka, but one day, Ikuo suddenly commits suicide and Yumiko falls into deep sorrow.
A few years later, Yumiko, still having the pain in her heart, remarries to Tamio and moves to a small town in the Hokuriku region.
This film is a story of loss and rebirth. It portrays Yumiko's heart delicately with images conscious of the lights in the screen.

Amir Naderi
His previous feature was 2011’s CUT, shot in Japan and entirely in Japanese. Naderi’s 1984 film THE RUNNER gained wide international critical recognition. Since the 1970s, he has been among the most influential figures of New Iranian Cinema. His work has been the subject of retrospectives at museums and film festivals around the world, including the Film Society of Lincoln Center (New York), Turin’s Museum of Cinema (Italy) and at the Busan International Film Festival (Korea). Although Naderi’s early films explored themes within the context of Iranian life and culture, he has cited the aesthetics of Italian neorealist cinema as inspiration: non-studio shooting, the use of nonprofessional actors, looser narrative structures, and a focus on the plight of poor and working-class people. Naderi has produced works of new filmmakers such as Andrei Severny’s Condition (2011), Naghmeh Shirkhan’s Hamsayeh (2010) and Ry RussoYoung’s Orphans (2007). He also co-wrote Ramin Bahrani’s 99 HOMES (2015). Naderi was born in 1946 and grew up in Abadan, a working-class port city in southern Iran. He emigrated to the United States in the 1990s. <Story>
During World War II, the island of Ōkunoshima was the biggest poison gas factory in Asia. The Imperial Japanese Army produced around 9,000 tons of chemical weapons for the use in China. Today, Ōkunoshima is known as “rabbit island” around the world. The 700 bunnies distract from the reality: chemical weapons are still in China and Japan today – and they are still dangerous.

<Story>
Yuna, a 14-year old lives in Honedera, Ichinoseki City in Iwate Prefecture, which has been miraculously protected in a form almost similar to the scenery 800 years ago.
At the funeral for Yuna’s grandma, her grandpa insists that he wants to make mochi in the traditional method, using a wooden mallet and mortar. Her family attempts to persuade him, saying that similarly delicious mochi can be made without all that trouble using a machine, but grandpa is insistent on doing it the old-fashioned way. Yuna feels the sensitiveness of her grandpa's heart and gently cuddles.
The closing of junior high school was decided due to the decrease in the number of students, and the school disappeared after the last year.
Yuna's world is constantly changing, and everything is lost from herself and she is worried about moving away.
In order to leave the words, traditions, and emotions born in this land and people in their original form, they are produced in a hybrid form of fiction that is as close to non-fiction as possible. The freshness of living in the “now” that radiates will shake your heart, and living in a land with a deep and strong culture and history will ask us something important.
